A new website doesn't have to start with a quote. With Your concept I first design the main pages of your website, so you can see in advance which direction we are heading. Like the concept? Then you receive a proposal with a fixed price. If not, you are not committed to anything.

Having a website made often raises questions. About the process, the planning and what is possible. Below you will find the answers to the most frequently asked questions about web design, website development and apps at Awake Design.

The process
What does the process look like when I have a website made?

We start with a personal introductory call, online or in person. In 30 to 45 minutes we discuss your business, your wishes and what your website should deliver. Then we decide on the approach and go through the steps together, from concept and web design to development and launch.

How long does it take to have a website made?

The lead time depends on the size and complexity of your website. On average the process takes about four to seven weeks. Getting acquainted and intake take about a week, design and concept one to two weeks, development two to four weeks, and testing and optimising a few days. After that your website can go live.

What happens after my website goes live?

Awake Design is still there for you after the launch. I remain your point of contact for hosting, updates, backups and changes. So you can keep improving your website as your business or your wishes change.

Where is Awake Design based, and can we work together remotely?

Awake Design is based in Portugal and works for business owners in Portugal and the Netherlands. We can go through the whole process online, from first call to launch. If you live in the Algarve, we can also meet in person. You have one point of contact throughout the project.

Your concept
How does Your concept work at Awake Design?

With Your concept you first see what your website could become, before you decide to go ahead. You fill in a short online intake of about five minutes. Based on your answers I design the main pages within a week and put the concept online on its own link. You can view it on your phone and laptop. If you like the concept, you receive a proposal with a fixed price.

Can I request a website concept without any obligation?

Yes. With Your concept you can get to know my approach and design style without obligation. You pay nothing for the concept and are not committed to anything. If you decide not to continue, it stops there. The design remains Awake Design's until we decide together to go ahead.

Websites and possibilities
Can I have my existing website redesigned?

Yes. I help business owners redesign an existing website. We look at what works well and what can be better. Your website then gets a new design, an improved structure and new images where needed. Existing copy and elements can be kept and moved across where possible.

Do I get a custom website or a standard template?

A custom website. I design every website around your brand, audience and business goals. From structure and design to content: everything is aligned. Not a standard template with just your own logo, but a website that fits your business.

Can I also have an app or client portal made?

Yes. Besides websites I design and develop apps, client portals and internal tools. That could be an app for customers or a digital solution that makes business processes simpler. For mobile apps I work with Flutter, which allows one codebase to be used for both iOS and Android.

Can my website support online payments and appointments?

Yes. Your website can be extended with features such as online payments, an appointment system and integrations with other software. Think of payments via iDEAL, Bancontact or credit card, appointments that appear in your calendar automatically, and integrations with invoicing software such as Moneybird or WeFact. Which options are suitable depends on your wishes and the integrations available.
